Allow me to introduce myself. Currently, I am an independent contractor for private industry as a Desktop Software Instructor. My business is located in the West Palm Beach, Florida area and I am available to teach day classes and evening classes from Palm Beach County to Miami Dade County. I am a certified Microsoft Office Specialist Master Instructor and have been performing classroom teaching in Desktop Applications and proprietary software applications for over twelve years.

My most recent project involves assisting the Wellington Regional Medical Center in Wellington, Florida with their implementation of the Microsoft Office 2007 Suite. During this project, customized classes have been provided to all end-users in the accepted practical usage of their computers and network as it pertains to the hospital. This implementation included Windows XP Introduction, Lotus Notes (e-mail, calendaring, tasks and contacts), Introduction to Office 2007-New Features, Word 2007 Introduction and Intermediate, Excel 2007 Introduction and Intermediate and PowerPoint 2007 Introduction and Overview.

I have taught for several professional training companies in the Maryland and DC and for the past two years, have been in the SE Florida area. I have taught as an Adjunct Faculty member at Montgomery Community College in Maryland as well. I generally teach desktop applications including but not limited to: Introduction to PCs; Introduction to Windows (95, 98, 2000, ME, XP and Vista); and all versions of the Microsoft Office Suite (1995-1997-2000-XP-2003-2007). I have also taught various versions of WordPerfect and Corel Office.

I was a lead instructor to USDA IT Staff for Implementation and Administration of the following: Windows 2000 Server, Exchange Server 2000, Windows XP Professional, Microsoft Office XP/2003, and VERITAS Backup Exec.

My teaching experience includes end-user training for proprietary database software programs written in COBOL, FoxPro and Oracle. For these firms, I also performed helpdesk and telephone support functions during the periods of time that I wasn't traveling and teaching.

I have taught MS Office 97, 2000 and XP for a temporary services agency. These classes were personally developed by me for the agency in order to streamline temporary associates into offices quickly with the ability to survive on the clients' business and desktop applications. We empowered the associates to be able to earn more during times of transition.

I have taught MS Office classes for a local savings bank, where I traveled to each of the branch offices and taught introductory courses on their desktop applications. These classes were customized to meet the requirements of the Bank and the respective branch offices.

I have taught database functionality on a consulting basis to the Montgomery County Public Schools Division of Maintenance offices and created a fully functional database program in FilemakerPro software.

I have an extensive hardware and software background and have a natural talent for troubleshooting, installing, and training. I have always been the person to whom the call was made to troubleshoot a problem or for a necessary "quick tutor." I have completed the coursework for A+ certification for H/W S/W Support.

I have served as an instructor for several proprietary software companies. I am proficient in classroom teaching, one-on-one teaching, telephone tutoring, document development, helpdesk troubleshooting functions and software upgrades and installations.

Prior to becoming a professional instructor, I have served in administrative capacities for various organizations. I have network administration, training, office management, and contracts administration experience. I have been instrumental in providing support and training for system changes, operations and rollout.

My training experience extends to all types of individuals; from beginners ("I know the mouse doesn't eat cheese"); to intermediate users of office systems; Network and System Administrators; and to management and professional users.
